Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan’s foreign ministers held the United States and NATO accountable for Afghanistan’s “disastrous situation” on Thursday. While the United States and its allies rushed out of Afghanistan in 2020, leaving behind a devastated country, China, Russia, Iran, and Pakistan held an informal meeting on the sidelines of a conference of Afghanistan’s neighbouring countries’ foreign ministers in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and concluded that the situation in Afghanistan is Washington’s fault.
